Jay started his journey within the technology recruitment industry for a London based blue-chip company in 2004. He focused on placing specialist technology contractors across Software, Automation and BA/PM. In 2009, Jay accepted the opportunity to move to Singapore to work in the emerging Asian market to start up and grow a technology recruitment business. In 2011, Jay founded SearchElect to cater for the rapidly expanding and transforming technology market across Asia from Singapore.

To date, Jay has over 15 years of specialist technology recruitment experience across both European and Asian markets helping SME and MNC clients across a large range of business sectors. What makes Jay unique is his 15 years of recruitment experience across the entire technology stack and his continual passion to keep up with the steep curve of technology and human advancements. Today, Jay's team in SearchElect is built around an agile, scalable and knowledge driven business model. Danica has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and over 9 years of recruitment experience, with 7 years spent in Singapore. She initially worked as an internal recruiter for an MNC outsourcing firm and then moved to SearchElect, recruiting purely within the technology space. She has worked with and placed candidates in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia.

She has a strong footprint in recruiting mid to senior level positions within the Telco, System Integration and Principal Vendor companies in the Network, Communications, Cloud and Security space. The functions she has placed are a mixture of Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Presales, Solution Architecture, Delivery, Program Management, Operations, Commercial & Bid Management, and Product Management. Hariz Chan

Business Development Manager

Hariz is Singaporean and grew up in England. After completing his education in the UK, he started his career with a major blue-chip company in Europe. He was promoted twice in his first year and was the youngest manager to cover one of the most important regions. Hariz expanded the business by managing corporate and SME accounts across the retail estate; he led teams of sales executives in both retail and field sales. He was then headhunted to move back to Singapore in 2012 to join a retainer firm as an Executive Search Consultant specialising in C-Level placement, where he was also heading the commodities division.

Hariz had his calling to move back to the tech space 4 years ago, where he joined a technology recruitment firm as a Business Development Manager to generate new leads for new business and prospects. With his experience in C-Level placements, Hariz was also instrumental in placing senior commercial candidates for software vendors. Since then, he joined SearchElect as a Business Development Manager responsible for our existing client base and also tasked to open new businesses in the emerging technologies. He advises foreign tech companies on the Asian market and niche hirings in Singapore.

May as a recruitment consultant champions the new tech space, specialising in Cloud, Big Data and IoT. She is a Finance & Marketing graduate with a Masters in Counselling on top of 7 years of working experience. Her experience includes working with a major Malaysian telco before becoming a professional counsellor and getting in touch with the start-up scene. She enjoys helping people bridge the gap towards finding what they want in life. She has conducted career workshops and guidance on reaching goals and milestones unique to each individual. This helps her current role as a recruiter in understanding client and candidates’ needs in connecting and building careers.

May also has an interest in disruptive technologies and looks forward to staying ahead in this exciting transformation within the new tech space.
